CCS Action Network Training: Meeting with Elected Officials
Join us for a training Thursday, March 6 at 8pm eastern on holding successful meetings with your elected officials!
With Congress considering a major energy spending bill, the carbon capture industry is working hard to secure even more taxpayer subsidies, despite the financial and safety risks these projects pose to communities. It’s critical that lawmakers hear from constituents like you.
We can fight back!
Every Senator and Representative is coming home for a Congressional recess the week of March 17. This is a great opportunity to ask for meetings with your elected officials and make sure they know the truth about the impact that the carbon capture industry is having on communities and the connection to billions of dollars in subsidies this industry is getting to support their dangerous pipeline and injection wells.
In this training, you’ll learn:
How to schedule and prepare for meetings with your U.S. Representative and Senators.
Key points to educate officials on the risks of carbon capture subsidies.
Strategies for building productive relationships with congressional offices.
Whether you’re new to meeting with elected officials or have experience, this session will provide the tools and confidence you need to engage effectively.
Meet Your Trainers:
Paul Blackburn, Bold Alliance – Overview of congressional developments and why constituent engagement is crucial.
Michelle Allen, Food & Water Watch – Step-by-step guidance on scheduling, preparing for, and conducting meetings with elected officials.

CCS Action Network Launch
The CCS Action Network is bringing together communities across the country that are fighting dangerous CO2 pipelines, opposing efforts to fast track permitting of inherently unsafe injection wells, and stopping the flow of billions in public subsidies that are driving this industry forward. By coming together, we can work to protect communities from this dangerous assault on our communities.
Join leaders across the country who are fighting this industry, learn about opportunities to stop the carbon capture industry attacks on our communities, and more importantly how we can all come together to build a strong movement to stop the CCS industry.
